Established in 1989, The Club at Wynstone is a private club located in North Barrington, Illinois. The Club features a highly-acclaimed Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course, a lovely swimming pool and tennis complex, a beautiful clubhouse and year-round activities. 

  • Clubhouse Dress Code

    • Clubhouse Dress Code:

      It is expected that Members will choose to dress in a fashion befitting the surroundings and atmosphere provided in the setting of the Club and will advise their guests accordingly. Exceptions may also be made for certain special events. The club is a “soft spike” facility. The club dress code is as follows:

      Proper Attire Men:

      • All shirts must have a collar (traditional or mock), shirts must be tucked in at all times unless so designed to be worn untucked
      • Dress denim is permissible in the clubhouse provided it is not torn, faded, frayed or in disrepair.
      • Pants and shorts must be worn at the waistline.
      • No hats may be worn on upper level of all Clubhouse areas. Hats are permitted to be worn forward on the lower level of all clubhouse facilities and outdoor lower terrace.

      Proper Attire Women:

      • Dresses, blouses, or sweaters (including collarless and/or sleeveless) are acceptable in the clubhouse, shirts must be tucked in if so designed.
      • Appropriate dress for women shall include dresses, slacks, skirts and shorts.
      • Dress denim is permissible in the clubhouse permitted it is not torn, faded, frayed or in disrepair.

      Applicable to both Men and Women:

      The following attire is not acceptable in the clubhouse or on the golf course/practice facilities:

      • Tee shirts, sweatshirts, tank tops, halter tops, spandex clothing or gym clothing.
      • No blue jeans on golf courses.
      • Ripped, soiled, stained, frayed, cut off, bare midriff or see through garments.
      • No sweats, work-out, spandex, or gym attire in the upstairs clubhouse, golf course or practice areas.
      • No pool attire; except in pool area.
      • Footwear is required in the clubhouse on the golf course and practice areas.

      The guiding rule is Men and Women should wear clothing made for and designed for golf. The following types of clothing are prohibited on the golf course: denim of any kind, cutoffs, tennis shorts, cargo shorts, running shorts, tee-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts and warm-up suits. If you are in doubt concerning your attire, please check with the golf shop. Hats must be worn forward always on golf course or range.

      Men acceptable

      • Shirts with collars and sleeves, mock collared shirts with sleeves, slacks and golf shorts and golf shoes. All shirts must be tucked in on golf course and range.
      • Hats must be worn forward always on golf course or range

      Women acceptable attire

      • Dresses, shirts, slacks, golf shorts and golf skirts and golf shoes
      • Hats must be worn forward always on golf course or range
  • Cellular Phones

    • Out of respect for Members and their guests, the use of cellular or digital portable phone and other forms of electronic communication equipment is permitted with discretion. Management reserves the right to ask a member to turn off their mobile device should it interfere with the other members enjoyment of the club.

  • Liability

    • Members and guests shall use Club facilities at their own risk and shall assume sole responsibility for personal injury, personal property, and property damage. The Owner, its affiliates, officers, employees, representatives, and agents shall not be held liable for personal injury to any person while on Club premises, nor for loss or damage to personal property, brought onto, used, or stored on Club property, whether in lockers or elsewhere.

  • Smoking

    • There is no smoking in all indoor facilities. Smoking is permitted on lower outdoor patios including the fire pit area and in tennis court seating areas. Smoking is not permitted on the upper terrace or in the pool area.

  • Gate Access

    • Your host will have notified Club Staff who will have communicated your name to the Gate access personnel. Please use the guest access lane when entering the Wynstone community. Practice facilities and lockers are available for golf guests. The Locker room attendant will show you to your locker. The Golf shop staff will direct you to our practice facility.
